I've been trying to think of a diplomatic way to blog about the events of last month. I can't. I shall semi-cryptically say that I think it was a handy excuse for a knee-jerk decision taken in haste to cover a previous, ridiculous decision when the powers that be suddenly realised they had fucked up. Working in the gulf can be very weird.
That said (if anybody understood any of it) life goes on and I have been offered a place on the good ship 'Supercatz'. They're a Aussie band who have been on the circuit here for a few years and we're heading for Rock Bottom Cafe in Muscat for four months after Ramadan. I can't say yet how it will feel to be back on the RBC circuit after all these years and Muscat is the one branch I haven't played in before so it could be a whole new kettle of fish, I'll let you know.
In the mean time I'll be playing a few solo gigs (Weddings? Funerals? Corporate do's? Bar Mitzvahs are thin on the ground around here) and keeping myself busy with some computer work.
