Motorcycling tips for the UAE: #1

I think I'll do a series of these tips as and when I think of them, in a random order.  This one however is tip number one because it is the most basic, and critical.  Other tips will often refer back to it.

Tip Number 1: Never trust anyone.

Even if they seem to be a good driver, even if they appear to signal correctly, even if they have most definitely seen you and are trying to be helpful.  Your safety is always your responsibility so check everything for yourself.  Turn signals are often misleading or completely wrong, people often change their minds about a maneuver at the last second, drivers can make full eye contact with you and still not see you... and people are generally idiots.
